Inaugurated last September, the Quinta do Paral wine hotel is the “place to slow down and live in the moment”, because it is “in simplicity and small details that true luxury is felt”. These are the words of Sofia Moreira, general manager.
This hotel unit is unique in terms of location, quality and the “quiet luxury” it offers. The Wine Hotel is the result of an idea by the Morszeck family, of German origin, founder of the Rimowa brand (already sold to Louis Vuitton) and Junker Aircraft.
It was in 2017 that they found the luxury of calm in Vidigueira, Alentejo, the “Portuguese Tuscany”, where they acquired a property for the production of wine and olive oil. In terms of wine, the winery is currently responsible for 16 references.
The historic 19th-century mansion was carefully restored, as well as some old agricultural pavilions that would give way to many hotel areas, which motto is “our land, our soul”. In total, this hotel unit offers 22 rooms and 3 spaces dedicated to gastronomy, as well as an "infinite" swimming pool, gym, congress and events room.
The owners have always been concerned with respecting identity, history, local traditions and environmental sustainability. Winemaker Luis Morgado Leão and chef José Júlio Vintém are two of the guardians of this heritage.
In addition to the wines, the hotel restaurant features local, organic and seasonal ingredients. Alentejo cuisine was modernized and gained some sophistication, in a fusion with world cuisines, to meet the demands of the guests.
Not only the luxury of Alentejo tranquility attracts visitors to Quinta do Paral. Luxury is also in important details, such as the hotel's private plane transfer service from Beja Airport, an exclusive service unique in Europe! Butler, private dinners with chef, cooking workshops, wine tasting events, equestrian tours, etc., are other offers available to guests.
The Wine Hotel is currently part of the Leading Hotels of the World chain.
The kitchen zones (preparation, production, pantry, pastry and bakery), bar, storage room, cold storage areas and wine cellars were the focus of FN hotelaria’s intervention. From the restaurant it is possible to take a peek of the work of the kitchen team surrounding a cooking block designed by FN hotelaria and produced in Italy by Marrone.
