PORTOBAY FLORES

PortoBay Flores opened in the summer of 2019, at Rua das Flores, Porto. This 5-star hotel is the result of the rehabilitation of a 16th century palace and offers 66 rooms, restaurant, bar, swimming pool, gym, business meeting area, garden and a spa with Asian therapies.

In the transformation of this historic building into a hotel, the architect Samuel Torres de Carvalho had the utmost concern in preserving elements such as the staircases, the iron balconies, the stonework, the granite columns, the tiles and an old kitchen oven that can be admired in the area that connects the former Palácio dos Ferrazes to the new wing of the hotel. Surprising in this connection between buildings is the tunnel that seems to suggest a "time travel".

The salon gave way to the restaurant which cuisine is led by chef Nuno Miguel and at the Bar dos Maias, which pays tribute to the last family that resided in the palace, you can find cocktails and light meals.

The equipment for kitchen, pantries, bar, buffet, cold rooms, staff cafeteria, storage room and laundry was supplied and installed by FN hotelaria.

LES SUITES AT THE CLIFF BAY

The most exclusive hotel unit of PortoBay Group, clearly focused on the luxury segment, opened in October 2019, in Madeira.

Les Suites at The Cliff Bay, as the name suggests, appears as a complement to The Cliff Bay. Both 5-star hotels are connected through an interior corridor, allowing Les Suites guests to also access the services provided by The Cliff Bay or the restaurant Il Gallo d'Oro, with two Michelin stars.

Les Suites results from the combination of two buildings and consists of 23 luxurious suites, with hall, bedroom, closet, living room and large balconies, as well as gardens, an infinity pool, jacuzzi, solarium and gym. The PortoBay Group sums up the spirit of the new unit in one sentence: «The feeling of infinity».

In addition to providing stunning views of the ocean and the bay of Funchal, Les Suites also offers guests the AVISTA restaurant. Dedicated to Mediterranean and Asian cuisine, it also offers options such as afternoon tea and cocktails. The menu is under the responsibility of chefs João Luz and Luísa Castro.

In the kitchen, the highlight is the cooking block designed by FN hotelaria and produced in Italy by Marrone, as well as the Josper charcoal grill and oven both responsible for magnificent grills. The remaining kitchen equipment (preparation, cooking and pastry), pantries, bars, wine cellars, buffet, cold rooms and storage room was supplied and installed by FN hotelaria.
